Explanation (?): | The windows audio service is simply a toggle switch for any audio device in your computer. If this service exists then you will need to have the service start in order for applications to detect that there's a valid audio device, even if the device exists in the device profile. To disable this service set it to disabled. Once disabled it will take a restart to terminate this service as you cannot terminate it during a Windows session. In some Windows servers this service will be disabled by default as they don't expect a server to be playing sound effects (for good reason). It is highly recommended you leave this set to automatic unless you will never need sound. |
